PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK ALL MEASUREMENTS TO AVOID MISTAKES.
1.
Decide
if the blind is to be fitted inside or outside the window recess. Very
narrow window recesses might not accommodate roller blinds, in which case
they should be fitted outside the window recess. Also window operation or
furniture (handles etc.) may interfere with the blind as is the case with
swivel windows, again in this instance the blind should be fitted to the
outside of the window recess.
2. For fitting inside the recess, measure the width in at least two places checking for the narrowest point (tiles, picture rails etc). Measure the drop in several places again checking the smallest measurement. These are the recess sizes to be quoted, from which we will then make allowances for the blind to fit inside the recess opening.
3.
For fitting
outside the window recess we recommend that the
blind should
overlap by at least 75mm (3”) over the whole
of the recess,
this is particularly important at the top of the window where the face
fix brackets are to be fitted. This is the finished or actual blind size
from which
we shall make no further allowances.
4.
Choose the type of blind required ROLL-O-MATIC or SPRING ROLLER. For
ROLL-O-MATIC blinds state the side the control cord is required.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSQ. What is a ‘made to measure’ internal blind?Q. A made to measure blind is any type of internal blind that is custom made to fit your window.
Q. There seems to be so many materials to chose from. How do I know which is best for me? A. Decide what you want the blind for! Is it purely for looks or do you want to dim out the light in a bedroom? Is it for privacy or do you need it for sun protection? Is it likely to be splashed as in a kitchen or bathroom? Whatever the need, we can supply the right fabric to suit the location.
Q. Can my blind be cleaned?A. Most fabric blinds can be wiped with a damp cloth and some louvre fabrics are available as machine washable.
Q. Are any blinds available in flame retardant fabrics? A. Many of the roller and vertical fabrics are flame retardant and other types of blind can be as well. |
