When you’re managing a commercial fit-out, refurbishment or high-end residential project, the last thing you need is a fragmented supply chain. Sourcing blinds from one supplier, then chasing a separate fitter to install them, is a recipe for delays and inadequate installations. That’s why at Saxon Blinds we offer a full package, from the initial consultation to bespoke manufacturing and the final installation.
We’ve been doing this for over 20 years, and we now proudly stand as one of the UK’s leading independent blind manufacturers and installers. We provide bespoke window treatments to schools, offices, hospitality venues, public sector buildings and smart homes across the country. From the initial site survey through to the final blind installation, we manage the entire process in-house, meaning you deal with a single point of contact from start to finish.
Whether you need extra-wide roller blinds for a distribution centre, blackout blinds for a school hall or motorised vertical blinds for a corporate HQ, our nationwide service brings consistent quality wherever the project sits on the map.

Blind installation: How it works
We’ve refined our process over two decades to make commissioning new blinds as straightforward as possible. Here’s how a typical project unfolds.
Step one: Consultation
Every project begins with a free design consultation. We discuss your requirements and priorities (light control, privacy, thermal performance, BREEAM or WELL targets) and recommend solutions tailored to the building. This is also when we take accurate measurements of every window opening, recess and window frame so the final product is a perfect fit.
Step two: Bespoke design & quote
Once we understand the brief, we produce a detailed quote and timeline. Products are tailored to your specification and budget, with options on fabric, mechanism, mounting (inside mount or outside mount), bracket finishes and bespoke RAL powder-coating where required.
Step three: Manufacturing
The majority of our blinds are manufactured in-house at our Northampton facility, where our production team has been building commercial shading systems for decades. Where a specific product sits outside our core range, we source it from trusted leading partners. Either way, quality is checked before anything leaves the workshop.
Step four: Delivery & installation
Our experienced fitters handle the install with minimal disruption. They turn up with the right tools, work around your schedule (including out-of-hours fits for schools and live offices) and clean up properly before they leave. Every job is backed by our 5-year warranty.

What to look out for when choosing a company for blind installation
Not every supplier offers the full package. Here’s what trade professionals should look for when shortlisting an installation partner.
Expansive product range
A broad catalogue means one supplier can cover every window in the building. We manufacture and install venetian blinds (aluminium and wooden), vertical blinds, pleated blinds, roller blinds, architectural internal and external louvres, roof blinds, complete blackout systems and digitally printed blinds.
Proven testimonials
Track record matters. Our clients regularly highlight the professionalism of our fitters: One of our commercial installation reviews reads ‘Saxon Blinds have recently carried out a large job for us by installing some electronic roller blinds for our client in Nottingham city centre and they look fantastic. Customer service was brilliant from start to finish especially from Mark Gordon. Thank you.’
Reviews give you peace of mind that you’re dealing with a reputable, experienced company. We are proud to hold a 4.8/5 Google rating across consistently positive reviews.
Accreditations
Look for evidence that fitters are vetted and trained for site work. Our team holds Enhanced DBS checks, CSCS cards, PASMA tower training and BBSA membership, meaning we’re cleared to work safely in schools, hospitals and live commercial environments.
Sustainability commitment
Why does sustainability matter in blind installation?
Well-specified shading reduces heat loss through windows by up to 33%, controls solar heat gain and cuts glare.
That translates into lower energy bills and better occupant comfort, beneficial whether you’re in a school and need full pupil attention, a workplace and you’re looking for productivity, or a shopping centre for customer retention.
We offer recycled and sustainable fabrics that contribute towards BREEAM and WELL ratings on commercial projects.
Convenience
Single-supplier procurement removes friction. One quote, one project manager, one warranty. No coordinating between manufacturer and fitter when site dates shift.

Nationwide blind supply & installation from Saxon Blinds
We supply and fit a comprehensive range of window blinds across the UK, with strongest coverage across London and the Home Counties, the Midlands and Northamptonshire.
Here are a few of our available options. We understand that blinds can be confusing, so if you have any questions we are more than happy to answer them!
Venetian blinds
Horizontal slats (in aluminium or wood) that tilt to control light and rotate fully closed for privacy. They can also be fully drawn for full natural light intake. Operated by cord, wand, electronically or on your smart device. Common in offices and meeting rooms where precise light control is needed.
Vertical blinds
Vertical fabric vanes that rotate and draw to one side. Ideal for large windows and patio doors. Frequently specified for schools, public sector buildings and call centres because they’re hard-wearing and easy to replace vane-by-vane.

Pleated blinds
Concertina-style fabric that folds neatly when raised. Available manual or motorised, and well-suited to roof glazing and conservatories where a low-profile blind headrail is needed.
Roller blinds
A single sheet of fabric that rolls onto a tube at the top of the window. Available chain operated, gear operated or motorised. Our extra-wide roller shades suit large glazed facades, and digitally printed options allow branding or graphics on the fabric.
Architectural louvres
External or internal louvre systems that manage solar gain at the building envelope. They are fixed to the glazing structure, with the louvres simply rotating as you wish. Often specified on new-build commercial projects on difficult-to-access areas.

Opening mechanisms
The way a blind operates affects daily usability, safety and energy performance. We offer three main options.
Manual
Chain, cord or wand-operated. Simple, reliable and the most cost-effective choice for smaller projects. All manual blinds are supplied with safety cleats or compliant child-safety devices as standard.
Motorised
Hard-wired or battery-powered motors operated by handheld or wall-mounted remote. Ideal for high windows, large banks of blinds or rooflights where manual access is impractical.
Smart
Powered by Somfy automation, our smart blinds integrate with building management systems, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa via the Tahoma Switch. Capable of controlling 1 to 200 blinds in unison, with scheduling and sensor-driven operation for optimum energy efficiency.
